"Even during a crisis
you can have control
of your business.."

Colin has over 24 years of disaster management experience as a Retained firefighter,
Officer in Charge of a Retained fire station in Hampshire; attended over 3500
incidents. In addition, he has over 35 years of business experience with multinational
companies Marconi, Digital Equipment and Nokia. This unique combination has
enabled him to develop an understanding of what disaster can do to the lives
of people and businesses. The need for them to protect themselves and, where
disaster does strike, maintain the continuity of life to enable a speedy recovery
and restoration of normality.
At SMECONTINUITY we understand the vulnerability of the small and medium
size enterprises to disaster. Often what are small events to some people can
mean financial ruin and misery for the people associated with any affected
business. This is where Business Continuity planning can help. Such planning
though is not just something for the large multinationals and nor is it just
IT focused. The creation of simple, very low cost plans, often using much
of the information which already exists within the business, together with
their regular maintenance and review is all that is needed.
Importantly though we recognise that SME's are under constant financial pressure
and need to spend the funds they have wisely, it is for this reason that SMECONTINUITY
have created for such companies the opportunity for low cost planning. Disaster
can and does takes many forms and is a constant threat to us all but when
it does happen the loss of a business and its associated impact on the lives
of those associated with it can be prevented. It is said that 80% of all companies
who suffer a disaster go out of business within the next 18 months and as
the majority of large businesses have the finances to ride out storms this
means SME's make up the bulk of this figure. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THAT WAY
and here at SMECONTINUITY we can provide you with a low cost solution
to preserving your business.
